The Sky-Watcher 102/500 refracting telescope is the larger alternative of the 80/400 (Horizont 80) telescope. Recommended mainly for daytime observations. The F/5 focal ratio results in a short tube and compact size. The objective lens is a Fraunhofer-type system with 2 elemens. The objective lens is fully multi coated and provides excellent and distortion free view. The AZ3 mount is stable and makes it possible to use the telescope for daytime observations as well as astronomical purposes, especially when observing large and faint objects, but of course can be used to observe Moons and planets in the magnification range of 15-200x. The rack and pinion focuser is made of metal and accepts 2" eyepieces and accessories. At 15x magnification the view of view is large, over 4,5 degrees, and is ideal for North America, Pelican-, Andromeda or Veil-nebula.

The T2 mount can be used to attach DSLR cameras with the proper adaptors, resulting in a 500mm telephoto lens. A Baader solar filter is also available.
